The HOLLYWOOD Summit Show will be in Malibu, Ca. July 26. WHY? READ THIS.
Jonathan Anthony "Jon" Moak, who grew up in Malibu, was killed Jan. 12 in a skateboarding accident in Phoenix. He was 29.
Moak was born in Santa Monica on Nov. 29, 1978. He grew up in Malibu with his family, and attended Our Lady of Malibu School, Malibu Park Junior High School and Olympic High School. At the time of his death, he was attending the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, maintaining a 4.0 grade point average. He was an honor student and was named "Tech of the Year." Moak was to graduate in June.
Action sports were his passion-enjoying skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing and motocross. Moak was skateboarding when he took a fall that ultimately killed him. He sustained massive head injuries and succumbed to his injuries. Moak was not wearing a helmet, and his life may have been spared if he had been wearing one.
Moak's family wrote in an e-mail to The Malibu Times, "Tell the ones you love that HELMETS SAVE LIVES."
Moak is survived by his mother, Margaret Sanchez Herron of Malibu; sister Barbara Herron Rae and her husband Darrell Rae; brother Dale Herron and his wife Genoveva Herron; brother Steven Moak and his fiancé Brianne; brother Jeff Moak and his wife Leah Moak and brother Greg Moak.
He is also survived by his extended family members, his girlfriend Amy Corrodi; his uncle Robert Sanchez; his nephews Lyon Herron, Harper Rae and Mason Moak and his nieces Izabella Herron, Cami Herron, Sofi Herron, Ashley Corrodi-Moak and Gianna Moak. He has numerous other uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Along with immediate family, special friends, Terry Perry, Ben Garron, Prarie Pritchett and Marc Francke were at Moak's bedside vigil at the end of his life.
There will be a memorial service for Moak on Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Malibu Church, located at 3625 S. Winter Canyon Rd. Also, there will be a paddle-out at Zuma Beach Tower 9 on Jan. 27 at 8 a.m., followed by a celebration of Moak's life at his mother's Malibu home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Trauma Brain Injury Foundation, or TBI Foundation, on behalf of Jon Moak or the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation on behalf of Lyon Herron, Moak's nephew.

The Grind for Life Striling Skateboard Park Dunedin Contest #2 Results
The HOLLYWOOD Summit Show has covered The Grind for Life Contest #2 at the Striling Skateboard Park in Dunedin, Florida and it will be in an up coming show.. The Grind for Life crew started setting up on the morning of Saturday, April 5th, 2008 at 8 a.m. Team Pain has built a perfect Striling Skateboard Park that is at the MLK Jr. Center. The weather was looking very gnarly, and the forecast was calling for high winds and rain, but like Mike Roger (founder of Grind for Life) told the host of The HOLLYWOOD Summit Show, Morgan "HOLLYWOOD" Monroe, every Grind For Life event never gets rained out and always ends up being a perfect day for skateboarding. There were 84 girls, ladies, boys and yes, old men too, that entered in the Flow Bowl Contest. Legendary skateboarder, Mike Frazier's son, Reese Frazier, had a skateboard debut with his 1st contest placing 10th, with a score of 65.5 and a style that looked a lot like his fathers. Before the 30-39 and 40-up old dude's divisions got started, Mike Frazier, Tim Johnson, and Cody Eurich through down a rippin demo braking in Striling Skateboard Park right. The Ian Tillman Foundation set up a booth at the front gate of the park, checked helmets to see if they needed repairs and giving out new helmets to those in need. The Ian Tillman Foundation was kind enough to give The HOLLYWOOD Summit Show a great wind blown interview about their son Ian and The Ian Tillman Foundation. Courtney Paine Taylor "GRO Founder" Girls Riders Organization, (http://www.girlsriders.org ) placed 7th in the girls division with a score of 75.167 and had a perfect score later the next day in a unreal and very revealing interview, showing just how hard she works to change the sport of skateboarding for girls all over the world. The Dunedin ,Florida Grind for Life event raised approximately $2400 for GFL to help people with cancer. A great big thank you goes out to Mike Rogers and all of the GFL team for showing the City of Dunedin, Florida, it's skaters, and The HOLLYWOOD Summit Show, just how fun it can be raising money for cancer while breaking in their new skateboard park. We just got back from Bloomington, IN where we did a follow-up to The HOLLYWOOD Summit Show's interview with GRO (Girls Riders Organization) Founder Courtney Payne-Taylor. http://www.girlsriders.org/ The interview was done at The HOLLYWOOD Summit Pub in Palm Harbor, Florida Two days after The Grind for Life Contest #2 at the Striling Skateboard Park in Dunedin, Florida that was on April 5th, 2008. It is packed with must have info and a lot of great footage.
In the interview Courtney Tells us about a great sub-culture in the corn fields of this small but rippin little country town which has pulled off something that can not be explained at all. For example, How do you get a full size concrete truck 5 miles out into a thick wooded down hill trail and poor a perfect pool? You will soon find out.
The trip took us to six very well built skateboard parks, one back yard mini ramp and miles of street skating. It's an interview that gives every small town skater hope of doing the same in your home town no matter where you live. "THE SUMMIT LEAP OF FAITH"
On June 22 we head out to Skydive City Inc. WHY? The Hosts of The HOLLYWOOD Summit Show (Morgan "HOLLYWOOD" Monroe and Tom Spano) invite you to head out to Zephyrhills, FL with them for a tandem jump, and what is a tandem jump? Tandem jumping has been around since the early 80's. It is about the EASIEST way to do that "First Jump". After about 20 minutes of training, you will ascend to 13500' (4200m) in our turbine aircraft.
Wearing a harness connected directly to the Tandem parachute system, you will jump together and accelerate to 120MPH (200Kph), freefalling for about 60 seconds.
At about 5000', the parachute will open , and then with assist's supervision you will be steering the parachute during the 4-6 minute ride down. During that time you will get to practice the landing, have yourself a great roller coaster ride (if you like that), and then land on the dropzone with your video person waiting to film it all.
A free fall Videographer can capture your experience, filming the skydive and landing, as well as the 'candid' interviews, special effects and music - producing a 6-8 minute professional production, ready before you leave (as well as a roll of film for you to take home)
With the training, preparation, aircraft ride, jump, and video dubbing, you should plan on being with us for about 1/2 a day. This event with take about 2 to 3 hours and will end with us all going out for hot wings and then hitting Florida's number one rated beach http://www.floridastateparks.org/honeymoonisland/default.cfm where we will skateboard, skimboard, swim, sun, shark fish and more.

Girl International Online Video Skateboard Contest
The HOLLYWOOD Summit Show and Girls Riders Organization have teamed up for a International Girl Online Video Skateboard Contest and we want you and your girl friends to take part in this years "Battle for the Summit" online video contest! All you need to do is to submit a 30-45 second video clip of you skating. Showing your skills at your favorite places to shred.. Riders may enter the street or transition division, depending on their individual skate style. Both divisions will be broken down further to include separate age groups and special awards. Keep in mind that points will NOT be awarded for filming or editing. So be sure to focus on your style! The top riders in each category will receive prizes and their winning videos will be showcased at this year’s ASR Tradeshow in San Diego, Califonia and Surf Expo in Orlando, Florida.

Host Morgan "HOLLYWOOD" Monroe grow up in Anderson In. He started skateboarding at the age of 11, he moved to Clearwater, Florida at the age of 14 where he started skateboarding at Clearwater Skateboard Park ( where he started a network of people that would stay with him to this very day ) and surfing the west cost of Florida.. At the age of 15 his parents leased Skate Wave Skateboard Park in Tampa Fl where he homed in on his skills. He got into Runway Modeling and acting at the age of 16. At the age of 28 he moved to L.A. where he lived in Hollywood California for 15 years, he surfed, moutain biked, skateborded, and so on. He relocating to Palm Harbor Florida after he took a hard fall working on a live show set. After four years away from his passion, he restarted his career his way with his friend Tom Spano.
